så er bono, the edge, adam clayton og larry mullen jr. nu endelig klar med opfølgeren til ?how to dismantle an atomic bomb? fra 2004. lyden har ændret sig i forhold til de to forrige albums, og bono har tidligere udtalt at det vil være et helt nyt u2 man kommer til at opleve. daniel lanois og brian eno har igen siddet i producerstolen, ligesom de gjorde det ved blandt andet ?the joshua tree? og ?achtung baby?.
